IMDb IDs & links
The IMDb id is a fundamental means to Movix to ascertain that an imported movie has the right title and the necessary data. It also prevents erroneous movie merges by distinguishing movies from each other.
To make sure movies have their IMDb ID, Movix admins should always check if an IMDb link is present for the movie.
The format of an IMDb link is: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386703/ what comes after /tt1386703/ can be omitted. For example: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386703/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf
Alternative titles
When editing a movie always check the list of alternative titles for the movie. This is the list of titles under “Also known as”. It is important to add or remove titles from this list if, for instance, a translation for the title is missing or a wrong title is referenced. See also the article “A tale of titles“.
